Development Regulations

From March 26 to April 27, 2026, Kittitas County is noticing a 30-day public comment period for the draft development regulations changes and proposed changes to the critical areas ordinance as part of the County’s Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update. 

The proposed changes focus on addressing recent changes to state law and responding to changes to the goals and policies proposed in the draft Comprehensive Plan. These are some changes proposed to the critical areas ordinance to address recent changes to state law and best available science.
