Development Regulations
Draft development regulations and critical areas ordinance will be available on the project website after March 23.
As part of the Comprehensive Plan periodic update, Kittitas County is updating the development regulations and updating the Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO) in Title 17 of Kittitas County Code. These updates focus on ensuring that development regulations are consistent with recent changes to state law and that the critical areas ordinance is consistent with best available science.
The public review schedule for the draft development regulations and CAO will begin on March 23, when draft documents are released to the public and on March 26 a 30-day public comment period will open. A briefing for the Planning Commission is planned for April. The public comment period will close on April 27 at 5pm. Public hearings for the development regulations and critical areas ordinance are planned for May 12, with potential extensions of the public hearing on May 13, if additional time is needed. After the Planning Commission closes the public hearing and provides a final recommendation of the development regulations and critical areas ordinance, the Board of County Commissioners will schedule meetings for review.
For exact dates, locations, and times of Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners meetings, please visit the Kittitas County official website at https://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/ and see the upcoming meetings on the right-hand side.
